MIG welding is a process that uses a continuous wire electrode fed through a welding gun. This gun creates an electric arc between the electrode and the workpiece, generating heat that melts the metal, allowing for the joining of two or more pieces. A shielding gas, typically argon or a mix of argon and carbon dioxide, protects the weld from contamination.
